বিসিএস সহ অন্যান্য পরীক্ষায় আসা, সবগুলো 

Preposition এক সাথে নিম্নে দেওয়া হলো ব্যাখ্যা সহ।।

02. Eight men were concerned _ the plot. (in) 38th BCS.

Explanation :

১নং এর ব্যাখ্যা 

Concerned in = (কোন কিছুর সাথে) সংশ্লিষ্ট থাকা >> appropriate preposition.

03. John Smith is good __ Mathematics. (at) 36th BCS

04. He insisted __ there. (on my going) 36th BCS

05. Credit Tk.5000 _ my account. (to) 36th BCS.

06 .I caught him __ the ear. (by) 

07.' Who did you you give the money_ ? (to) 

08.He persisted _ misunderstanding me. _ (in) .

09.He was charged _ treason._ (with) .

10.The man died _ overeating. _ (from)

11. Mina is absent _ class. _ (from).

Explanation: 

প্রিয় শিক্ষার্থী বন্ধুরা,

♦ Phone এর আগে preposition হিসেবে by, over নাকি on বসবে 

এটা নিয়ে অনেকের মাঝেই বিভ্রান্তিটা বা বিতর্ক রয়েছে। 

তাই আজকে আমি আপনাদের বিষযটি পরিষ্কার করার জন্য রেফারেন্সসহ পোষ্ট করলাম।।

✔ বন্ধুরা, Phone এর আগে preposition হিসেবে by, over নাকি on বসবে??? 

Phone বা telephone-এর সঙ্গে prepositions on, over কিংবা by বসতে পারে।

✪ ফোনে কারো সঙ্গে কথা বলা কুঝাতে এর আগে on বসে।

যেমনঃ-

✪ I've never met him, but I've spoken to him on the telephone. [Longman]

(আমি তার সঙ্গে কখনো সাক্ষাৎ করি নি, কিন্তু তার সঙ্গে ফোনে কথা বলেছি।

✪ Who was that on the phone? [Longman] ( ফোনে কে কথা বলছিল?)

✪ We've spoken on the phone but never face-to-face.(আমরা ফোনে কথা বলেছি কিন্তু কখনো মুখোমুখি কথা বলিনি।) [ Cam.]

♦ ফোনের মাধ্যমে কাউকে কোনোকিছু জানালে বা তথ্য প্রদান 

করলে এর আগে over বসে। 

যেমন-

✪ He invited me over the phone. ( সে আমাকে ফোনে দাওয়াত দিয়েছিল )

✪ You can reserve seats over the telephone. [ Oxford ] ( তুমি টেলিফোেনে আসন সংরক্ষণ করতে পারো )

♦ ফোনে কোনো কাজ করা বুঝালে এর আগে by/over উভয়ই বসতে পারে। তবে মনে রাখতে হবে, by ব্যবহার করলে phone বা telephone-এর article the আগে বসবে না। যেমন-

✪ Much of his work is done ʙʏ ᴘʜᴏɴᴇ. [ Longman ]

( তার অনেক কাজ ফোনেই করাই হয়। )

✪They like to do business ʙʏ ᴘʜᴏɴᴇ/ ᴏᴠᴇʀ ᴛʜᴇ ᴘʜᴏɴᴇ. [ Oxford ]

( তারা ফোনের মাধ্যমে ব্যবসা করতে পছন্দ করে )

We speak on the/by phone about twice a week.

✪ 'be on the phone' দিয়ে বোঝানো হয় যে ‘ ফোনে কেউ কথা বলা অবস্থায় আছে’। যেমন-

✪ Please do not interrupt your mother while she is on the phone. [=while she is using the phone]

✪That son of mine is on the phone all day ! [ Cambridge ]

( আমার ঐ ছেলেটা সারাদিন ফোনে কথা বলতেই আছে ! )

✪ He's been on the phone to Kate for more than an hour. 

[ Oxford ]

( সে কেইট-এর সাথে এক ঘন্টারও বেশি সময় ধরে ফোনে কথা বলছে )

✪ He was on the phone when I arrived at his house. 

✪ we were on the phone for 45 minutes. [ Oxford ]

বিভিন্ন গাইড বইগুলোতে এটার উত্তর over দেওয়া আছে, যেটা সম্পূর্ণরূপে ভুল। over তখনি হবে যখন phone এর আগে the থাকবে। যেহেতু, the নেই তাই উত্তর হবে by.

2. Nourin will discuss the issue with Nasir by phone. [ 33rd BCS]

3. She will discuss the issue with the officer by phone. [CU admission test]

4. I will talk to you by phone. [CU admission test]

5. Munna is on the phone right now. [BU admission test]

- এখানে be verb থাকায় on হয়েছে।

বন্ধুরা, সব কথার শেষ কথা হলোঃ 

✔ be verb থাকলে- on the phone

✔ be verb না থাকলে- over the phone অথবা by phone.

মনে রাখবেন, the এর পরিবর্তে determiner (my, your, our, his, her etc.) থাকলেও উপরের নিয়মগুলোই প্রযোজ্য হবে।

ব্যাখ্যা :

((be) entrusted + to+ sb

The government was entrusted to the elected politicians.

the children were entrusted to the care of their uncle

( be) entrusted + with + sth

He was entrusted with the money/ work/ responsibility.
