DIGITAL BANGLADESH

The golden jubilee of the independence of Bangladesh would be observed in 2021. The country has already fixed it target of achieving Digital Bangladesh' by that time. It is a timely expectation for proper positioning the country among other hi-tech countries globally. A country goes digital means will be an e-state. An e-state is a state where all kinds of activities like governance, commerce, education, agriculture etc are powered by computer and internet. The goal establishing such digital country would bring success in the ICT (Information Communication-Technology) sector which cannot be ignored in this 21st century.

Bangladesh is an independent country, but she is still burdened with poverty, overpopulation, unemployment, corruption, food deficiency, natural calamities, power crisis etc. Considering all these, the present government has aimed at making a digital Bangladesh to overcome most of these problems. The actual aim of digital Bangladesh is to establish technology based digital governance which will emphasize the overall development of the country and the nation.

If digital Bangladesh is established, the people will be much benefited. Corruption will be drastically reduced by enhancing accountablity. It will save our time and money and will reduce our unemployment problem. It will connect the people of Bangladesh with the whole world socially, politically, academically, economically and culturally. It will open doors for the people to improve their conditions. It will also improve banking and other financial activities. Transfer of money and business transactions can be made within seconds by clicking the mouse of a computer. Digital Bangladesh will highly benefit agriculture, education, trade and commerce and health sectors.

To materialize the dream of digital Bangladesh, the government must take some pragmatic steps. At first, uninterrupted power supply should be ensured, because without regular electric supply the implementation of the dream will not be possible. Secondly, computer network should be developed throughout the country. Thirdly, people have to be motivated to acquire ICT skill and ensure equitable access to digital governance services. Crime and corruption stand in the way of our development. Digital governance will be able to reduce crime and corruption and pave the way for the rapid development of Bangladesh. Government should take steps to spread ICT education throughout the country. We should have computer based education. With this end in view computer education should be imparted to the students of primary and secondary schools. To establish digital Bangladesh all the educated people should come forward and extend their hands of co operation to help the government in materializing the dream. When the dream of digital Bangladesh will come true, our country will be able to make progress in all sectors.

We don't want to see Bangladesh as a poor country any more. We want all out development of our dear motherland. It will be possible only through our concerted efforts. If all the people come forward and help the government we shall be able to establish digital Bangladesh.
